Wicked Watch Co. is based in Basel, Switzerland, it is run by Pascal and after a successful run as a third party reseller he started Wicked Watch Co. With a productive Kickstarter campaign, the Pearl Diver is now available for pre-order on their website.
The Pearl Diver is their first watch. Featuring a CuSn8 Bronze case, 200m diver it is not your run of the mill, regurgitated homage. Indeed the Pearl Diver, is chock-full of interesting, unique design features. The Pearl Diver is offered with plenty of options, a Swiss or Japanese automatic movement, three bezel inserts and six dial choices, give the buyer a tonne of choice.
Lume. What can I say about the Pearl Divers lume? It's simply amazing. Wicked opted for LumiCast, ceramic indexes which are filled with Super-LumiNova which results in a higher concentration of lume, and ultimately incredibly bright dials.
The case and bezel have an intriguing quality about them. A mixture of angles and curves, with an almost steampunk like quality.
Supplied with quality Nato and leather straps, along with leather pouches and tools. It’s ready for your next trip.
Powered by your choice of Japanese NH 35/38 movement or a Swiss STP1-11 movement. The STP1-11 is a clone of the ETA 2824-2, with solid specs and a ridiculously budget friendly price point. Do yourself a favour and upgrade to the STP1-11, its worth it.
Full production upgrades include a 15 minute track on the bezel, and spring bars not screw bars. The spring bars are a welcome update because the screw bars were an exercise in patience when changing the strap.
A bronze, Swiss automatic under $500 is a rarity, even less so when it’s an original, unique design. Add in some of the best lume available at any price and you’ve got yourself a winner.
